Still a little girl,

that had to be a wife.

A little girl's decision,

supposed to last through life.

Soon after we were married,

his true ways began to show,

as day by day, he turned into

someone I didn't know.

He tells me that he owns me now,

To him love means control,

The only way to get along,

is do as I am told.

But somewhere deep inside me,

is this tiny little voice,

that is screaming silently,

don't I have a choice?

All my hopes and dreams are gone,

of a life blessed from above,

'cause dreams turn into nightmares,

in a home where there's no love.

Now threats and lies and cursing,

are all he seems to know.

I know that all is lost now.

I can't stay.  Where do I go?

What happened to that little girl?

Is she just lost in time?

Or is there enough left of her,

somewhere within my mind?
