The following is the family genealogy of the second son of John Gross, Jr.

Andrew Jackson Gross

County, TN. He died about 1872 in Macon County,

1870 married Elizabeth ? They had five children:

Gould "Doc", Mary, John G. , Robert and James Gross.

4. Gross, Gould "Doc" born 15 May 1868; ; d 8 Feb 1960, bur in

Bethpage Cemetery; married Patsy Mary Catherine Coley,

b 9 June 1864; d 8 Mar 1917; the eldest child and only

daughter of Julius and Margaret Jane Perrigo Coley. Patsy is

buried in the Lafayette Public Cemetery. He was adopted by

a cousin, Tom Beckner, who abused him terribly.

Doc’s daughter, Minnie Gross Ross, stated to me that her dad

carried scars on his back to his grave at age 92 where he had

been beaten by Beckner. Doc is buried in Sumner Co.at the

Bethpage Cemetery.

Patsy and Doc’s children are: Nancy, Mary, James

Robert "Haley", Minnie, Lassie, Henry, Myrtle, Lonna,

Frank and Lee.

5. Nancy Gross, b Mar 1888; md Henry Scruggs.

Their children: Robert, Lewis, Vester Hal, and

Margaret, who married Swaney Pearson..

5. Mary Gross, born Feb 1890; md 25 Dec 1906

Finas Lawson. Their children: Goldie, Altie, Jesse,

Willard and Mable.

6 . Goldie Lawson married Ezra Martin. Their

children: Frances, Ray & Patsy.

5 . James Robert "Haley" Gross, b 26 May 1891;

d 5 Dec 1978; md 24 Sept 1909 Frances Jane

"Janie" Sexton, born 1890; d 24 Mar 1966 at

age 76, daughter of Bill and Julie Bell Kiddell

Sexton. She was 13 and he was 14 when they

married. After Janie died, Haley married

two times, one wife’s name unknown, and one’s

name was Mae. Haley and Janie’s children were:

Mary, Hosea, James, William, Eugene, Gracie

and Nellie Gray Gross.

6. Mary Gross, b 8 Feb 1913; md 19 Sept 1929

Jesse Williams, b in Robinson Co., TN., 9 Aug

1892; d 17 Mar 1971. Their children: Bobby

Gray, Lester Frank, James Haskell, Gracie

Nichols. They had no children. He had a

of Ford, married Donna Taylor. Their
