2. William BEAN was born on 8 Feb 1754 in Ireland. He married Celia WYATT before 1775. He married Ann SCOTT, daughter of William SCOTT and Mary UNKNOWN, before 1777. He died before 26 Apr 1816 in Caldwell Co, KY. (above info taken from online)

3. PETER BEAN, born 1776 in NC; married Frances ? b 1780 in NC. Peter Bean is listed as being a farmer and unable to read. He died with diabetes. He was the father of five sons and four daughters. 4. Richard Bean, b ca 1800, Burke County, NC., died in 1840's in Macon County, TN It is believed that he married Elizabeth Patterson who may have been married first to a Jones. Church records indicate that both Richard and Elizabeth died in 1840's. They had a son and daughters. It is further believed that James and Polly in the household of Walter and Frances Bean in 1850 are the children of Richard and Elizabeth and also Sarah in household of Peter and Frances Bean in 1850. James must have died young and is buried in the Whitley Cemetery as a fieldstone with his name no dates) on it was found there.. All others by that name I have found buried elsewhere. I think Polly/Mary married Levi Austin and had a daughter, Ann Elizabeth named for both her grandmothers.

They had no children. b 1844 Sarah is in the 1860 census in household of Thomas and Mahala Bean. Peter served and was killed in the Civil War, leaving the young widow and a daughter. Sarah later married Solomon Benjamin Wilson and moved to Missouri.

5. Thomas Marion Bean, b 30 Jan 1846; d 6 Apr 1931; married May, 1865Margaret Chitwood. While still a lad of a boy, Thomas went to Columbia, KY and enrolled in the Civil War on 20 Sept 1861 to serve three years. . Thomas fought in the battle of Stones River at Murfreesboro, TN and was wounded 2 Jan 1863 in battle while crossing the river. He crawled under a bluff on the bank of the river. He went on to fight in more battles. They went to Chattanooga and had to make a pontoon bridge there. Thomas was discharged in 1864.
Thomas granddaughter, Lula Bean, married Melvin Leonard, who had moved to Walter Hill, TN in 1923. Thomas came and stayed a few days with them. He asked Melvin to take him to the battlefield. When he looked around, he said that it did not look right. A few days later, Thomas asked Melvin to take him back again. It was all coming back to him. Thomas stood on the bank of the river and told him about the battle and when he was wounded. Thomas died on 6 Apr 1931, and is buried in the Whitley Cemetery at Red Boiling Springs, TN. 4. . James Bean, b Mar 1816 in KY; married 23 Oct 1842 Willie Hawkins Ross of Jackson Co.,TN. She was b 18 Mar 1813 in NC; d 11 Jul 189?. James served in the Civil War in Co D 23rd Reg KY Inf. He was cook and nurse and was left to care for the sick soldiers in Kentucky while the able-bodied marched away to fight battles. Soon after they left him he became sick with typhoid fever and was moved from one hospital to another till the paperwork was lost. Payroll put him down as deserted. He had a hard time clearing this up to draw a pension after the war. His records contain letters from neighbors in Red Boiling Springs and fellow soldiers vouching for his good character. 4 . Willie Anne Davis, b 1869 burned to death at the age of 5. Her two older brothers built her a playhouse with a fireplace and fixed her a fire. She got too close to the fire and her dress ignited. One of her parents heard her screams and ran to her and put the fire out. All that was left of her dress was a small scrap which her father had in his possession till his dying day. Her hair fell off her head in the yard as she was carried into the house. She lived a few days and she'd ask visitors if they saw her hair as they came in. She'd had beautiful hair and this question brought more tears from visitors than from Willie Anne.
