If you're ever called upon to raise a little child,

be kind and understanding, and loving all the while.

A child's the richest blessing, sent from God above,

and He has put His trust in you, to nourish them with love.

Children born into this world, have God's love deep within.

Help them make this love grow. Don't plant the seed of sin.

Show them by the way you live, a love that's warm and pure.

This will build the confidence, to make them feel secure.

So be a fine example, in all you say and do.

Show them love and kindness, for your child learns from you.

Of all God's many blessings, can any be as dear,

as precious little children? Lord, may no child live in fear.

 May no child ever know the pain, that comes from child abuse.

To teach a child that way of life, there's never an excuse.

They're with you such a short time, so while they're still at home,

give them all the love they need, to make it on their own.

Have patience in correcting. Do so with loving care.

But never out of anger, for it only brings despair.

A hand is raised in anger.  A child's eyes fills with tears.

A child learns to replace God's love, with hate brought on by fear.
