They had six children of which only one is known at this time:

wedding. They were cousins. They had a child, a son - Byron.

in the Bradley Cemetery.

man, because he said he could not spell McClanahan so he

(Lorene Cora was removed from her mother’s custody on May 13, 1941 along with the two youngest children, Lamon Elizabeth and Edward Edwin Cook, listed below and placed in the TN Home for Children in Nashville, TN. The three children were later adopted and given different legal names. Lorene was named Peggy Jo Wilson; Lamon was named Judy Marie Wilson and Edward Edwin was named Jerry Lee Martin.)

children. Lamon Elizabeth was one of Beadie's children that was

put in the orphanage, and legally adopted out and given the name

of Judy Marie Wilson.

6. COOK, Edward Edwin, born 30 Apr 1941 in Macon County, TN.,

md Patsy Brown, daughter of Lee M. Brown. They have two

daughters: Lagenia and Nichole Martin.

Jerry’s adoptive parents both died when he was 13 years of age. His adoptive mother had written the Home for Children in Nashville, wanting Jerry to be reunited with his birth family but the Home for Children declined to help him be reunited with them. Close friends of the Martins became his legal guardians until he reached 18 and joined the Navy.
