SHRADER, Henry Edwin “Long Henry” , b 8 Aug 1878 in DeKalb CO., AL; d 28 Mar 1945 in Jackson CO., AL; md Daily Ann O’Dell, b 17 May 1889; d 28 Apr 1960; daughter of Monroe Tarie and Katherine Bouldinher O’Dell. Married brother and sister John Mason Smith & Amanda Hester Smith Goforth O’Dell. They married two of Henry’s first cousins. Henry had a stroke on Sunday March 25, died Wednesday 28th. He had a first cousin who died on the same day who’s name was “Short Henry” Henry and Daily had thirteen children:

6. SHRADER, James Weaver, b 2 Oct 1880; d 29 Apr 1940 of heart trouble; bur at Liberty Hill Cemetery. Arnold Shrader, his brother, made his tombstone out of rock. He never married but was engaged twice. Both of his fiancés died before their wedding day. The first died three days before their wedding day and the second died on their wedding day of a ruptured appendix. Her name is Georgia Anderson and she is buried beside him. Weaver tried to get Indian rights to get Indian Land Grants but he couldn’t prove his birth right.

She is a sister to Myrtle Hawkins Shrader who was married to Alvin Shrader and sister to Deaner Hawkins Shrader who was married to Lewis Shrader. Arnold was a WWII Veteran. Tulafay 7 SHRADER, Able, half brother. His mother was Laura Blevins Weldon, sister to Melinda Blevins Shrader from Flat Rock, AL. He was born before Arnold md Carrie Hawkins.
6. SHRADER, William Alvin, b 4 Apr 1896; d 8 Feb 1928; md Myrtle Hawkins, daughter of Starlin and Lizzy Hawkins from Gainsville, GA. They married just a few days before he went to WWI. They were married by Rev.Hamlin Chapman; witnessed by William E. “Bill” Fowler and Martha Anner Shrader Flower (Louverda Fowler Ott’s father and mother). They got their marriage license at Trenton, GA.
William drowned in the TN River at Scottsboro, AL – went over the damn in a little tt yacht. He had gone to get potato seeds. John Lawson was in the boat with him and had said several times he was going to drown them but no one thought he was serious so only God knows if he did it on purpose or not. William was in the river 39 days before they found him. He was bur at the New Hope Cemetery. Louverda Ott was born on his birthday and he said she was his birthday present and he bought her a ready made dress on her first birthday. William and Myrtle had four children: 7. SHRADER, Anderson, d 7 Apr 1952 He went to sleep in a transfer truck and died of carbondoxide poisoning and is buried at Ider Fuller Cemetery. He was a WWII Veteran and married Hull Brown’s daughter. 7. SHRADER, Arvel, d 23 Sept 1987 of cancer in lungs. Spent 20 years in service, was a WWII Veteran and is buried at New Hope Cemetery. 7 SHRADER, Iva Lee, b 1922; d 1977; md Richard White who d 1993. 7. SHRADER, Calvin, Still living at Mentone, AL.
