                                                                  To Mom With Love

The poem below was written on a card made by daughter Peggy when mom was in the nursing home.

Mom had the card  with her and read it aloud on the day she was dying in the hospital - (except we didn't know she was dying!) She could not talk normal - it was so difficult for her to pronounce the words - very slowly she read each word and gave daughter Peggy three slow but lovely great big hugs. She died that night.

       To Mom with Love

written by Peggy Hurst                                                         your loving daughter.

If in this life we had a choice

        of who our mom would be;

We would have picked you above all else,

'cause you're the best you see.

You took us in when we were young,

and made us your very own.

     Teaching, training, caring for us,

until the day we were grown.

And now we just want to stop and tell you

Just how much we love you so.

'Cause you're just the bestest mom anywhere

           you set our hearts aglow.

So now we must end this loving note

and seal it with a kiss.

And send it on its way to you,

in the hope it will set your soul abliss.
