Let's listen to some music while we visit. This is:
| "Heart of Worship" |
Well, since you are here, I guess it means you would like to
know me better.
I was born 55 years ago in
Niagara Falls
, New York. I had a normal childhood as a "tomboy". Never
did like the girl things like dolls. I was happier playing "soldiers
" with the boys, climbing trees, getting dirty and just plain driving
my mother crazy! I did a real good job of that!
At 17 I ran away to get married. Had 2 children and became a single
Mom by the time I was 19.
I moved to California. With 2 babies I needed to have several jobs.
I was a cocktail watress, a dancer, and a cook/waitress in a diner.
I stayed there a little over a year, then it was "on the road
again"
We moved back to New York for a while, then I rented a U-Haul truck
and moved to Kansas! That was where I first met Jesus. I didn't keep
my feet firmly planted tho and I soon strayed back to the world.
Then we were on the road yet another time. From Kansas we
went to Arizona, Virginia and
back to New York. We really saw lots of the country during our
travels and I had jobs as everything from a model to an auto
mechanic.
By then I was in my mid 20's and decided it was time to settle down
again. In the next 10 years I had another child, learned how to
remodel houses (wiring and plumbing included), and raised 6
children. I even managed a pet shop and became friends with a lion
named Sheila and a boa constrictor named Babe! I was also a
seamstress and had my own greenhouse business for a while.
Well, time for a change. Had enough of the city so I packed up the
kids (only 3) and moved to a small town in
central New
York.
It was lovely there. That's where I learned to be a lumberjack and
a farmer. I even ran a little library for a few years.
When the older 2 decided to spread their wings, the youngest
(then 16) and I bought an old rundown tennant house on a dairy
farm. We spent a long time fixing it up. It was during this time
that Jesus was able to get my attention again.
We spent one summer tearing down an old barn for the wood. It made
a chicken coop and some out buildings for our farm and even some
cupboards and book shelves for the house.
Then it was time to add the animals. We had chickens, ducks, geese,
rabbits, goats, pigs, and even a calf to raise for meat. We also
planted a big garden. We did all this with almost NO income.
The Lord sure was blessing us.
It sure kept us busy! All the chores like milking, feeding,
gathering eggs...Then there was the cheese and fudge making,
canning, freezing...We even sold the excess to our neighbors.
During this time I went to college to become a "wildlife
rehabilitator". I really liked that. I even had the chance one time to rehabilitate an osprey. Boy was that a sight to see, the day I released him!
Of corse, things do change. Time for the youngest to leave.
I reluctantly closed down the farm. Went back to school. This
time "people rehabilitation".
I took a position as a respite provider for care homes in the
area.
That was when The Lord sent me Bob! Little did I know that my life was going
to change again.
In the 5 years that he and I were together we were in 22 states and
2 countries. At present time we are separated and I guess it is
entirely up to the Lord as to what will happen there.
He moved me to Nebraska, and I worked in a nursing home until I
injured my back a year ago and had to have surgery.
I know live in a little town named Riverdale with, like I told you,
my 2 cats.
I have many hobbies one of which is building
I love the color purple, love cats, and collect dolls and angels.
I also love to work on my
dollhouses.
computer! But most of
all...I love the Lord. He has filled my life to the fullest and
provided my every need, but that is another story in it's self.
You can read about that on My Testimony page.
