Let's recall the old children's tale about the two con men
who convinced the emperor that they could make him a fabulous suit of
clothes that only fools could not see. Of course, the reader knows all
along that the fools are those who buy the con game and who allow the
emperor to parade naked in public because they don't want to appear to
be fools. Finally, the entire lie is brought out in the open by an
innocent child who freely declares that the emperor is naked.
Lately, I've been hearing the word "intolerance" being used in the
same context as we would use the word "prejudice". The word
"intolerance" when used to describe unjust hatred or prejudice of
another race is perfectly acceptable and well-understood. However, when
the word "intolerance" is used to convince people to accept any immoral
or unacceptable concept or practice, we are seeing the con men at work
weaving with invisible thread on an empty loom.
We are condemned as fools and bigots when we refuse to accept
aberrant and unnatural sexual conduct. We are equated with people who
irrationally and illogically hate groups of people only because of
their
different skin color. When we protest against that which is not only
irrational and illogical, but also immoral and ungodly, we are loudly
proclaimed to be "intolerant" and therefore ignorant and our views to
be
rightfully disregarded.
The Emperor is naked and nobody will admit it because they don't want
to be thought foolish. I am not afraid to be thought foolish. I know
the
difference between wrong and right. For whatever reason homosexuality
is
practiced and publicly announced, it is sad and wrong. I do not hate
those who have adopted that lifestyle, I pity them. I can befriend them
and I can love them, but I can not and I will not tolerate what they do
because I am afraid of being called "intolerant".
The practice of homosexuality is irrational. There is no practical
reason for a man to be sexual with another man, or a woman to be sexual
with another woman. They profess to derive pleasure from their conduct
and to abhor the natural sexuality to be found between man and woman.
They are like those who might insist on placing the batteries into the
radios and flashlights backwards or who maintain that they will open
their doors with their keys upside down. They are irrational.
The practice of homosexuality is illogical. The conduct of the
homosexual couple, both privately and publicly, is awkward and
incomprehensible to those who can plainly see that men and women were
made to physically and emotionally complement one another. There are
those who may protest here that because of the harmful treatment of men
toward women or of women toward men, those harmed turn away from
natural
sexuality and become homosexual. The loom is still empty. Homosexuality
compounds the harmful effects of the injury, it does not heal the
wound.
The practice of homosexuality is immoral. Everyday, we see news
reports and stories about the latest public display of homosexuals. We
are expected to accept terms such as "alternate lifestyles" and
"significant other". We see these people seeking to be married and
expecting to be accepted into our homes and into our lives as "couples"
while also expecting to be treated as any other couple. They expect us
to allow our children to see their behavior as normal and acceptable.
Our children are even being taught in our schools that homosexuality is
acceptable and not unnatural. Perhaps they expect us to encourage our
children to follow such a lifestyle.
The practice of homosexuality is ungodly. In both the old and new
testaments of the Bible, God tells us that "man shall not lie with
mankind as with womankind: It is an abomination."
1
In
Paul's First Epistle to the Corinthians, he warns us that the
unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God
2
and among
the unrighteous, he lists those who are effeminate and those who abuse
themselves with mankind. What more reason should we have not to
practice
or tolerate homosexuality than that we would not disobey God?
The Emperor is naked. The con men have not woven anything but lies.
Homosexuality is wrong and cannot ever be acceptable. That is not to
say
that we should not pity or try to help those who have been caught up in
the invisible threads of intolerable sin. Jesus told us to "Love one
another." The people who call themselves homosexuals are victims of the
Father of Lies. They live irrational, illogical, immoral, ungodly
lives.
They are subject to the diseases caused by their unnatural practices
(not by God) and they are desperately trying to force the rest of us to
accept that which can never be accepted. They harden their hearts to
God, rejecting His commands and His Love. We can never persecute them,
but we must reject their behavior. We can never accept homosexuality,
but we must have compassion and pray for the homosexual.
Through Jesus and the acceptance of His blood as the perfect
sacrifice to remove sin, the homosexual can be transformed into a new
creature, dressed in the perfect white garment of His righteousness and
forgetting forever the pitiful, naked emperor dressed in the
transparent
web of lies woven by those who seek to separate them from God.
