A Letter to God
|
You are our epistle,
written on our hearts, known and read of all men. You are
manifestly
declared to be the epistle of Christ, ministered by us. You are not
written with ink, but with the spirit of the living God; not in
tables of stone, but in human tables of the heart.
II Cor. 3:2-3 ( paraphrased)

D
id you know that you're a letter
to God?
That's right, you're a living, breathing, letter - walking around for
people to read. Just as my essays are published on this site, available
to
anyone who is interested enough to read them - your life (conveyed in
your
words and actions) is available to all with whom you are acquainted or by
whom you are observed.
So whatever actions or Words you use become a testament to everyone of
what Jesus is in your life. In effect, you are an ambassador for Jesus,
responsible not only to yourself for your actions and words and their
subsequent consequences, but responsible to those who are watching you or
who are listening to you.
Just as Paul wrote His epistles to the Romans and Corinthians and
Ephesians, you are writing epistles about your relationship with Jesus to
your friends and family, your community, and ultimately, your children.
So you need to watch yourself and listen to yourself. Ask yourself
often, "What am I saying? Am I speaking words that God would want me to
speak? What am I doing? Am I doing those things which Jesus would want me
to do?" Ask yourself, either consciously or subconsciously, "Am I being
the Blessing to others that God intended me to be?"
|
"Examine and Test and evaluate your own selves to see whether
you yourselves are holding to your own faith and showing the proper
fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves. Do you yourselves not
realize and know (thoroughly, by an ever-increasing experience)
that
Jesus Christ is in you - unless you are (counterfeits) disapproved
on trial and rejected?"
