Meet my Parents

I consider myself lucky and very blessed to have been born to
THE BEST PARENTS IN THE WORLD!
and I want you to meet them

This is my mother, Gloria This is my father, Tom
Mama in High School Daddy in High School
These pictures were taken when they were seniors in High School
Yes, they were "High School Sweethearts"
meeting at Beverly Hills High School, Beverly Hills, California

Mama and Daddy were married November 8, 1942
(you figure out how long that is!)

Their special song that day was "Always" and it remains their song today
(it is the song that is playing on this page)

During World War II, my father served in the
U.S. Army Air Corps as a pilot in Okinawa, Japan.

He was a Liason Pilot, flying the wounded off the battlefield in his single engine Stinson L-5

but it is one like he flew.
(this was taken at an Air Show)

Dad's love for flying continued and for a while he had his own airplane.
Mama was not fond of flying, but did go with him on occasion.
Both my sister and I took turns flying with Daddy and I LOVED it!

During the time my sister and I were growing up we were blessed with a stay at home Mom,
while Dad worked as a Service Manager for a Ford dealership.

The Class of 1939, Beverly Hills High School

We were lucky to have had many special family vacations;
a few which stand out in my memory are those to Canada,
the Grand Canyon, Sequoia National Park and Washington D.C.

Our family dog, Mel Of course, no home is complete without the faithful, family dog
and we were no different.

This is Mel

She has long since gone to "doggie heaven" but Mom and Dad still have a Weimaraner.

One of the things I remember as a child is singing as a family!
It was a lot of fun and below you will find a few of the songs we used to sing.

There is just over an hour of music here - ENJOY!

A Bushel and A Peck Alphabet Love Song B-I-N-G-O
Buttons 'n Bows By the Light of The Silvery Moon and Moonlight Bay Cuddle Up a Little Closer
How Much is That Doggie in The Window? Five Foot Two For Me and My Gal
Harrigan Hello My Baby Hush Little Baby

Mary Oh How I Hate to Get UP in The Morning Oh You Beautiful Doll

This is one I especially remember Daddy singing

Toyland

Mama, I know this is one of your holiday favorites!

When Irish Eyes are Smiling
When You Word a Tulip You Made Me Love You You Tell Me Your Dream
In The Garden

This is the only Hymn I remember singing at home as a child and I still love it!

Mama and Daddy have always been a lot of fun and adventurous
as shown in these photos taken in November 2001 when they rode
their great-grandson's Go-Cart!

As you can see by these photos, Mom and Dad are still as much in love today as they were
when they were married back in 1942.

Although my sister and I are no longer at home,
Mama and Daddy have their dog to love and pamper
(this is the MOST spoiled animal on the face of the earth!)

Mama being Baptized Daddy being Baptized
September 29, 2002

Several years ago at a Billy Graham Crusade in Sacramento, CA, my parents accepted Jesus as their personal Savior.  Today they followed their Lord in Believer's Baptism!  Also, baptized today was my nephew, Chris.  It is so good to know that the entire family will be together with the Lord for all eternity!

Thank you Mom and Dad
for being great parents, wonderful grandparents, super great-grandparents and for loving all of us, but mostly for loving each other!

Ephesians 6:1-2
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Honor thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise."
