meet my sister "Vicki"
|
I was just over four years old, when my little sister, Vicki,
was born. She was a "preemie" and I can remember going
with my parents to the hospital to visit her. I was not
allowed to go upstairs where she was, so I had to sit in the
lobby and wait for Mama and Daddy (that sure wouldn't be done
today ... LOL).
I remember well the day we brought Vicki home - Mama was holding
her in her arms and being the BIG sister, I wanted to see my new
baby sister. It had been a month since she was born, and I
was as excited as could be. As we were walking out of the
hospital, I kept jumping up to see the baby in my Mama's arms!

Growing up Vicki and I were not the best of friends. With
almost five years between us, we had different interests and
different friends. I thought she was a little pest, and
she thought I was the big mean sister. We were probably
both right ... LOL. Today, though, we are quite
close.

Even though we had our different interests and different
friends, we still loved each other and enjoyed the times when
we did things as a family. I remember, and I know Vicki
does too, when we were making a cross country trip to visit our
Aunt, Uncle and cousins in Massachusetts. We were camping
all the way, and after the first couple of nights, Daddy got
tired of setting up the tent for his girls - so he taught Vicki
and I how to do it, making sure we pulled the ropes "real
tight." WE DID! and ripped the tent! The
rest of the trip we slept out under the stars.

By the time Vicki was in high school, she was a typical teenager,
and had a ton of boyfriends. As you can see by this
picture of her at her High School Graduation, she had become a
beautiful young lady. No wonder she had so many boyfriends!!!

As pretty as she was in high school, she was even more beautiful on
the day Daddy walked her down the aisle. Unfortunately,
like her big sister, Vicki's marriage ended in divorce. But,
before it did she became the mother of two handsome sons, Chris
and Casey.

Today, Vicki is a born-again Christian, who loves the Lord.
She lives and works in northern California.
