Brownie Cheesecake Bars
makes 36 bars
Ingredients:
- 2/3 c. + 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine (divided)
- 1-1/2 c. sugar
- 1-1/2 c. flour
- 2/3 cup cocoa (powdered)
- 1/2 c. milk
- 3 eggs
- 3 tsp. vanilla extract (divided)
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
- 8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
Directions:
- Heat oven to 350 degrees and grease 13x9x2-in. baking pan.
- Melt 2/3 cup butter.
- Combine melted butter, sugar, flour, cocoa, milk, 2
eggs, 2 tsp. vanilla and baking powder in large bowl. Mix well.
- Stir in nuts (if desired)
- Spread into prepared pan.
- Beat cream cheese, 2 Tbsp. butter and cornstarch in small bowl until
fluffy.
- Gradually add sweetened condensed milk, remaining egg and 1
tsp. vanilla.
- Beat until smooth.
- Pour evenly over brownie batter.
Bake 35-40 minutes or until top is lightly browned.
- Cool in pan on wire rack
- Refrigerate.
- Cut into bars.
Store tightly covered in refrigerator
