| A man of deep and strong faith, the only thing more important to Ronald Reagan than his country was his family. Married twice, he was the father of four and grandfather of two. |
![]() While making the movie "Brother Rat" Ronald Reagan met the actress Jane Wyman. They were married on June 25, 1940.
Their union produced his first two children, Maureen Elizabeth born in 1941, and Michael Edward (adopted) in 1945. They also had a daughter born 4-months premature in 1947; she lived only one day.

In 1951, during his tenure as President of the Screen Actor's Guild,
Ronald Reagan was approached by actress Nancy Davis. She was
being mistaken for another Nancy Davis, a communist. They
agreed to meet for an early dinner to discuss her dilema.
Before proposing to Nancy, the handsome actor called her father, Loyal Davis to ask for the young actresses hand in marriage. The Hollywood couple were engaged in January 1952.
They were married on March 4, 1952 at the Little Brown Church in The Valley, North Hollywood, CA. The only witnesses were their good friends, Ardis and William Holden. It was a marriage that would span 52 years.
In October 1952 their daughter, Patricia Ann was born and in May 1958 they had a son, Ronald Prescott. Their son, Michael and his wife, Colleen, have given the couple two granchildren, Cameron and Ashley. |
