The FRUIT
OF THE SPIRIT is love, and only as we live in love, can we
fulfill the will of God in our lives.
The believer must become:
Love-inspired
Love-mastered
Love-driven
Without the FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT, we are just a religious noise ... |

1 Corinthians 13:1
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have
not charity (love), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling
cymbal.

LOVE is the characteristic theme of Christianity. It can only be known from the actions it prompts. God's LOVE is seen in the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. Christian LOVE has God as it's primary object and expresses itself in implicit obedience to His commandments. |

John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Christian LOVE towards others is not an impulse from feelings;
rather it is an action that seeks the welfare of and a chance to
please them.

Let's take a look at how our Lord describes love (charity).
|
|   |
 |
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8, 13
- Charity suffereth long, and is kind, charity envieth not,
charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
- Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not
easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
- Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the the truth;
- Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
- Charity never faileth ...
- And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the
greatest of these is charity.

God puts a pretty high priority on love.
(vs.13).
He tells us that love is slow to anger (suffereth long), is kind,
doesn't envy the welfare, position or properties of
others.  It does not push itself forward sounding it's own
praises (vaunteth not itself) nor is it swelled with
pride. (vs.4)
Love has good manners (behaves itself unseemly), is not selfish
(seeketh not her own), is not easily provoked and does not keep
track of offenses committed against it.
(vs.5)
Love does not take delight in that which is offensive to God,
but is happy in that which is pure, honest and true.
(vs.6)
Beareth all things, believeth all things does not suggest that
it is guillible, but that it will believe well of others, until
convinced otherwise.  Rather than having a negative attitude
and critical spirit, it is always positive and hopeful, enduring
the assaults of an enemy.
(vs.7)
Because the love that is described here is an action as opposed
to a feeling, it will not fade nor fall away as feelings
do.  This kind of love does not wait to get, it continues to
give.
