"Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth."
Prayer is as old as man, as instinctive as breathing. It is practiced in some form by people of all faiths. It springs from the heart with a need. Prayer is spiritual communication between you and God. It is your acknowledgement of Him which brings you into a close fellowship with Him by admitting your need for and utter dependence on Him. When you pray, you have the opportunity to enjoy intimacy with God. Prayer is spending time with God as you express your heart to Him. It is not a one way activity. When we speak to God in prayer, He listens. God speaks to our hearts and we listen to that still small voice.
"Be still, and know that I am God." Prayer is asking and receiving by making our requests known to God in faith.
"Whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." Prayer is seeking and finding, searching with all your heart.
"And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."
Prayer is knocking and opening
Prayer is strength, refreshment, and joy. Prayer is aliveness to God.
