GOD's Perfect Woman

Proverbs 31:10-31 Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth a field, and buyeth it; with the fruit of her hands she planteth a garden. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

	As we study the Proverbs 31 Woman we will be looking at several women that can be found in God's Perfect Woman:
		Woman of Virtue Woman of Trust Woman of Energy Woman of Beauty Woman of Stewardship Woman of Service Woman of Preparedness Woman of Prudence Woman of Love Woman of Praise
	but first let's look at Proverbs 31:10-31 as a whole.
	The key word throughout Proverbs is WISDOM
		Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 28:5 ... but they that seek the Lord understand all things.

	There are two kinds of wisdom we want to look at here: WORLDLY WISDOM ... is the accumulation of man's tricks to preserve himself (without God) and get what he wants with a minimum amount of conscience pangs. produces the present world situation:  pride, wrath, envy, confusion, jealousy, war, rumors of war (see Matt. 24, James 4, II Cor. 7)
	HEAVENLY WISDOM ... is the work of the Holy Spirit revealed through the Word of God. produces the fruit of the Spirit (see Gal. 5:22) worketh repentance to salvation. It is obvious, I think, that it is this second type of WISDOM we want to pursue.  And how can we do that?
	In the book of Proverbs a "wise man" is one who: wins souls - Prov. 11:30 inherits glory - Prov. 3:35 receives commandments - Prov. 10:8 hearkens to counsel - Prov.12:15 guards his tongue - Prov. 29:11 seeks knowledge - Prov. 18:15 disperses knowledge - Prov. 15:7 fears and departs from evil - Prov.14:16 To know wisdom indicates the ability to draw judgment in moral and spiritual matters and to discern spiritual issues.  As we look at the woman described in Proverbs 31, we want to observe her character (her quality, pattern of behavior, moral strength, and self discipline; her distinguishing traits) and to develop these character qualities in our own daily lives.
	The fact that I am a woman does not make me a different kind of Christian, but the fact that I am a Christian does make me a different kind of woman.
