The Lord is MY shepherd I shall not want.

Psalm 23:1

I find it wonderful and

I have grateful love for my Lord Jesus.

He has set his great love

and care upon those of us who

have become the sheep in his pasture.

For when we believe and receive him as

our savior and the Lord of our lives, we

have allowed the precious blood of

Jesus to wash us and taken in and fed

upon the word of God anointed of the Holy

Spirit, to renew our minds.

" I am the Good Shepherd. "

"The Good Shepherd risks and

lays down his life for the sheep."

John 10:11 (Amplified Bible )

How wonderful it is that we can

have the confidence to say

"The Lord is MY shepherd.

" There is no "ifs" "ands" or "buts"

or even " I hope So.'s ".

For the Lord is MY shepherd.

If he is no one else's shepherd,

He is a shepherd To Me.

You see, a sheep is an object of property,

not a wild animal. So Jesus is my owner.

[ for ] He bought me with a great price.

[ He died on the cross for me,

shed his blood, and, he rose from the dead,

and got the victory over death,

hell and the grave.]

For me. O how he cares for me,

watches over me, and preserves me.

You see the words are in the present tense.

Whatever be the believers position,

he and she are even right this very moment

under the pastoral care of the Living God.

David, Who himself was a shepherd,

believed the Lord

to be a shepherd to him.

As David was to his flock --watchful

over them, careful to defend them

from the lion, bear, and wolves, and,

whatever else would bother them.

He was careful with their pasturing,

watering, ect. He fed, guided,

governed, and defended his flock.

And Jesus does this for me.

Jesus is MY Shepherd.

He set his mark on me.

In John 10:27 Jesus stated,

"The sheep that are my own,

hear and are listening to

my voice and I know

and they follow me."

Yes, without a doubt,

He who has numbered the stars,

and calls them by their names,

and he who counts every

hair on our heads,

takes special notice of his own children.

"The sheep of his pasture,"

to see that they will be provided

for and protected from danger.

The shepherds from the East,

always lead their flocks,

and never drives them.

I heard a story that goes like this:

A traveler in the east once

saw a man driving a flock

Of sheep. He said to the man,

"I thought that the eastern shepherds

always led their flock,

and never drove them."

To which the man replied,

"Oh I am not a shepherd,

I am a butcher."

I tell this to say that Jesus,

"our Good Shepherd,

who is MY Gentle Shepherd,"

never drives his sheep.

He leads them and they follow him,

because of his life.

Everywhere in the Gospels,

it is noted over and over

that multitudes followed Jesus.

He Led them, and, they followed.

He leads us and we his sheep follow.

"I shall not want."

Have you ever noticed,

that the only person that

can want, does not want?

The Sheep of Jesus Christ may

change their pastures,

but they never want a pasture.

Why?

Because Jesus has made us

promises for our provision.

By the Holy Spirit he leads us

to the pasture that we need.

God himself is our source of supply.

"I shall not want." Because,"

The Lord is MY Shepherd."

Our shepherd, the "all sufficient one."

There is peace and fullness of

expression in this little sentence,

he knows us, he knows our wants,

for he himself

Was lead as a sheep to the slaughter.

He knows how it really is to be driven,

by the enemy

of our souls, to the slaughter.

And so he is touched by the

feeling of our infirmities.

He loves us so very much.

He knows us better than we

know ourselves.

My Gentle Shepherd, who was the

Lamb Slain from the foundation

of the world for you,

and for me. Yes,

"The Lord is My Shepherd,

I shall not want."

"MY SHEPHERD"

Lord,

Thank you for being my shepherd.

For watching me and leading me.

For seeking me and finding me.

Giving Your blood, upon the tree,

Your Life. Rising and taking up

Your life again.

When I was just a lamb,

You held me in Your arms.

You brushed me and groomed me.

I cuddled there enjoying it all.

Then I toddled with my hand in yours.

As I climbed that path

which seemed so steep.

You encouraged me to continue on.

Promising, My child, My lamb,

You will never be alone.

As I grew, I'd frisk and play,

And you taught me how to follow.

To know Your voice, so sweet to hear.

As You called; "My child come here!"

Oh, my shepherd, I love to stand

In your precious shadow,

Listening while you teach.

You give strength to my body,

When I am weak.

You told me that Your strength

Will always be mine.

If only I would seek

I would always find.

And when I am sad,

You supply me with joy.

When I grow weary,

You give me deep rest.

Allowing me to hear the beat

of Your Heart,

Each time I lean upon you breast.

You still hold me warmly,

Next to Your breast.

Each and every time I have

those trials, storms and test.

You place Your Hand

Upon my head.

Give me such blessings

As on and on I tread.

Following my Shepherd,

From early morn, 'till I go to bed.

When I sleep,

My sleep is sweet.

For safely my Shepherd doth keep.

My body in rest, my soul at peace,

My spirit enriched,

As in His arms I do sleep.

Now I know and in confidence say,

I Know my Shepherd loves me,

I know His voice.

For all eternity, my shepherd will

Keep me and feed me. I shall not want !

For I follow JESUS, my shepherd, each day.

I listen, I learn, I follow, He leads.

He provides, He protects,

He goes before me.

He is my Shepherd

and in him I hide.

In Him Alone I am safe.

Upon me He pours out

His love and His Grace.
