On
a hot and humid summer day
I watched my grandkids fast at play
Timeless games played much the same
Memories bring back the game...
The
scene around me fades away
As I remember back to that day
My cousin and I ran and played
at Grammy's house where we all
stayed.
Grammy
cooked and made us cakes
And we were wild for goodness sakes!
Time stood still that summer day
All us kids mischevious play...
My
two cousins went down the hill
Down around the old grist mill
We weren't supposed to go that far
unless we were in Daddy's car.
I
was scared till they came back
full of themselves but dirty, black
They'd gone in the mill that day
To fine an exciting place to play
Back
from my memories I smiled within
and watched my grandkids with a
grin
They reminded me of days gone by
It seems impossible how time does
fly...
