The Lords prayer

In this study we look at a certain prayer that seems to have got stuck somewhere between bordam and repetition, everyone knows this prayer, most have reeled it of at some time, thinking this is how it was ment to be said... have news for you read this study and it will open your eyes to a meaning so deep it will supprise you. Here we will see just what Jesus ment when the bible says, pray in like manner, just to reel it of makes it sound so boring.

Matt 6;9-13

After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father
which art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen.

Notes

Firstly, Jesus is asked to teach them how to pray, so what he does he repeats a prayer that includes all the things we should use in our prayers, not necessarly in that order like a robot, but like individuals, thinking people, we can pray these in any order, this was just a way of showing people how and what to use... in their prayers... when they prayed to God.

Our father

Our Father..These are very simple words that mean a lot to some one listening, especally the way you say them, they mean you are exepting God as father, thus giving him the authority to treat you as a child of god, and like most fathers they have to chastise you every now and then, also it is an affectionate word too, so remember if you are a christian, God just happen's to be your father, So honour your father and do right by him.

Who art in heaven

Who art in Heaven...We see here, we are acknowledgeing God who is in heaven, we are saying Praise God you own all heaven, you are the great God.who is like unto thee.we are giving god place,
Ps 63;34. Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein

Hallowed be thy name

Hallowed be thy name just what does hallowed mean....English dicionary = Set apart as sacred, Consecrated or Holy
So when we get to this point in reeling off this prayer we miss the real meaning of this wonderful word, is this what Jesus wanted us to do when praying to his father, to miss the best parts out just to get into a robotic state and not even think about the meanings......I think not.

Thy kingdom come

When we are at this point we have nearly forgotton why this prayer is said at all, it is just another set of words to people.
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
This is the kingdom we are talking about not that many realise, and when that kingdom is around not many of us will be here to see it....Remember there is to be a judgment day...so when you pray this way you are asking God to bring his kingdom..Hense, thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done,on earth as it is in heaven

Here we have to stop and think just what we have said as christians.....

Thy will be done

on earth as it is in Heaven

Note

What have we said so far? we are asking God to have his way on the earth as it is in heaven. Can you understand the real meaning of whats been said, you are saying that you want to see a mirror image of heaven on earth, now in heaven they worship God day and night, they never rest from singing Gods praises, In heaven God is king over all....is he really king of your life here now.Gods will is carried out to the letter in heaven

Matt 3;16-17.....And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
As you see God commands the heavens, they even open up at his voice, the earth at this moment will not listen to him, I believe if Jesus came down now half the church population would put him back on the cross, as did the Jews. You see he would be distirbing the nice christian goings on in peoples lives.

salah

Give us this day our daily bread.

Give us this day our daily bread note the imediate concern...This day.. our daily breadJesus always preached that today is the time to look after as tomorrow would look after its self, also in

James 4;13-14
Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away

Gods providence is something that has amazed people for thousands of years, the children of Isreal in the wilderness for instance, God supplied throughout their life for forty years, and also when Jesus blessed the five loaves and two fishes, Just think when speaking words as many times we miss the good bit out, and the faith to believe then.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Matt 6;14-15
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matt 12;31-32
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Forgive us as we forgive them situation, we see give and take here, and this is the only way it can be with God, for if we do not forgive others how can we expect God to forgive us...Remember these words the next time you say this or any other prayer concerning us forgiving others.

Lead us not into temptation,But deliver us from evil

It is almost as if jesus is making us stress the more of deliverence from evil than really expecting God to lead us into it
-- New Jerusalem with Apocrypha Matthew 6:13 And do not put us to the test, but save us from the Evil One.this one I like because it seems to explain better what I believe Jesus was saying to them.God knows our weaknesess and I do not believe God would put us in danger of any kind.

1Cor 1; 13. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory

Ps 22;28. For the kingdom is the Lord's, And He rules over the nations.Ps 103; 6. Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.Ps 145;11. They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, And talk of Your power, 12. To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, And the glorious majesty of His kingdom. 13. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.1Cor 4; 20. For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.2Tim;4 1. I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom.2Tom4;18 18. And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!

For ever, and ever

Ps 45;6. Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
Heb 13; 21. make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
1Pt 4; 11. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever.

Amen.

A totaly different prayer is born this day to you,use it as the Holy Spirit wills, come away from repeating prayers and chants and bowing and crossing yourselves you know all the things that are done in these earthly churches that the devil controls, if you are saved boost your prayer life and really talk to God, believe me he will answer if you talk to him.
