Chicago is a big, beautiful, multi-cultural city on the edge of Lake Michigan. Among others, it has neigborhoods which are primarily Mexican, Polish, Greek, Arabic, and Chinese. Each of these areas boasts its own festivals and foods. Other places in Chicago that are of no specific ethnicity have many types of people, languages and restaurants.
Chicago has much to offer tourists. Not only a variety of foods, from cheap and fast, to expensive and elegant, but a variety of sights and sounds. The person who has only a few hours to kill before catching a plane might want to wander around the downtown and Grant Park areas to see the fountains and artwork around the city, or perhaps take in a show or do some shopping on State Street. The more literary ones might want to visit the Harold Washington Library, while those in favor of relaxation might prefer to stop in for a drink at a place with live entertainment.
Those who are here for several days will not find it boring. There are many places that take from half a day to all day to see properly. I won't even pretend to cover all the places of interest, although the places I cover are primarily for the entire family.
If you are sitting in a hotel room in Chicago wondering what to do, click on any of the links below and check out some of these places to see if you might find any of them interesting.
