BEYOND THE FOOTPRINTS
 

    Bloodthirsty a war dragon issues another decree.
    The battle has started; bodies are soaked in gore.
    Innocent lives are taken, another part of history,
    Recorded in the books as many battles before.
 

    Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Air Force,
    Soldiers of freedom are they all.
    Their bravery has altered the Communistic course,
    Causing the enemy to have a great fall.
 

    Not forgotten are the families, victims of war,
    Left to survive beyond the footprints left forever alone,
    Many lives were changed by the horrific battles of lore.
    The battle ground with soldiers' blood has been sown.
 

    Beyond the footprints pain is etched forever in memory.
    Countless soldier's blood bought freedom without being bound.
    Many wear the scars of the battle after the reveille,
    Unable to shed the uniform after the final taps sound.
