How Can You Love Me

How can you love me after all that I've done
I've broken your heart and the pain has just begun.

Don't ask me why for I do not understand
what makes a love last try as I can.

Hard as it is we must go on
like ships in the night in a very bad storm.

The mornings come and the evenings set
hoping for answers that we'll probably never get.

Memories and plans and dreams gone by
passing ships in the night with their sails set high.

A sunken ship is what we seem to be
like buried treasures in the deep blue sea.

How can you love me after all that's been said
I toss the words 'round as I lay down my head.

Hoping for answers that just don't seem to come
tossing and turning till the early morning sun.

A lost ship at sea is what I am
not knowing where it is or when that I will land.

A light house to guide me I can't seem to find
sailing through life I feel so blind.

How can you love me I just want to know
your love like a river it continues to flow...
