I AM A CHILD

I am a child born for you to love
sent down by angels from God up above.

Innocent and helpless at first
totally dependent and so easily hurt.

I am a child and do not always understand
so please just love me for the child I am.

Not always knowing right from wrong
as I look up to you to guide me along.

I am a child forgive me for what I do
as I know it is not always so pleasing to you.

But one day I'll be grown and gone
and all alone you'll be...

often I wonder...
will you ever stop and think of me.

I am a child love me while you can
and in return you'll see...

a loving little person I'll turn out to be.
