Under The Fathers Wings
FEAR
![]()
Fear is something we have all had to deal with in
one way are the other in our lives. Fears are real and
natural, sometimes they are more real than what
we fear. Fears leave us unsettled, insecure,
doubting our self-worth, having trouble sleeping,
health problems worrying about how
tomorrow will treat us or even if there will be
a tomorrow. The issue that we want to look at
is how do we avoid fear when we can, how do
we live with it when we must, and what can
we ,learn from it.

2Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and
timidity, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

Psalm 46:I-2
God is our refuge and strength always ready to
help in times of trouble.
So we will not fear, even if earthquakes come
And mountains crumble into the sea.

John 14:27
I am leaving you with a gift, peace of mind
and heart. And the peace I give isn't like the
world gives. So don't be troubled or afraid.

Gods word is telling us in these scriptures that
when fear over comes us that He is our refuge
and strength, that if we will call on him he
will give us peace that only comes from God.
He is telling us that this kind of fear is from
Satan and not from him, because Thank God
He gave us power and a sound mind, not a
Spirit of fear.

Psalm 2:-11
Serve the Lord with reverent fear, and rejoice
with trembling.

2 Corinthians 7:1
Because we have these promises, dear friends,
Let us cleanse ourselves from everything that
can defile our body or spirit. And let us work
Toward complete purity because we fear God.

Deuteronomy 31:7-8
Moses called for Joshua, and as all Israel
watched he said to him, 'Be strong and
courageous! For you will lead these people
into the land that the Lord swore to give
for their inheritance. Do not be afraid or
discouraged, for the Lord is the one who
goes before you. He will be with you; he
will neither fail you nor forsake you."

As we can see here there are two kinds of fear.
The kind that Satan brings, that we can over
comes through Christ Jesus. Then there is
the fear that is good ,it gives us a reverent for
God. A healthy fear keeps our perspective
about were we need to be in our relationship
with God and motivates us to strive for
holiness. Like Joshua we can't truly
understand courage if we haven't experienced
fear, it give us character and teaches us to rely
and trust in God.

Hebrews 10:31
It is a terrible thing to fall in the hands of
the living God.

Genesis 26:7
When the men there asked him about Rebekah
He said "She is my sister." He was afraid to admit
That she was his wife. He thought they would kill
him Because she was so beautiful.

Joshua 17:16-18
"The hill country is not enough for us, and
The Canaanites in the lowlands around
Beth-shan and the valley of Jezreel have
Iron chariots, they are too strong for us."
Then Joshua said to the tribes of Ephraim
And manasseh, the descendants of Joseph,
"Since you are so large and strong you will
be given more than one portion."
The forests of the hill country will be yours
as well. Clear as much of the land as you
wish and live there. And I am sure you can
drive out the Canaanites from the valleys,
too, even though they are strong and have
iron chariots.
As we can see in these scriptures there is a
time when fear is not a good thing, if we
have not made our peace with God.
It is a terrible thing to fall in His hands.
Fear is not good if it causes us to lie.
It is not good if it keeps us from doing
the things we ought to do because we
were not meant to live in fear. In order
for us to overcome the fear that comes from
Satan we have to #1 Know who Jesus is!
#2 Know who we are in Jesus!
#3 Keep our eyes on Jesus!
Thank you Lord that you are the same
Yesterday, today and forever, you will
never leave us nor forsake us. Let us not
forget as Peter did that night in the boat.
When the storm came, that all you have to do
Lord Is rebuke the winds and the sea became calm.
You are truly worthy to be praised.
