"Prejudice"

Prejudice is forming a negative opinion

about someone without having a basis.

What this really means is that it is

Judging someone without all the facts,

condemning them because of there own

personal opinion, in most cases we will

find that our up bringing is what colors

our prejudices against a person ,or an

entire race of people. This has causes

division, because of the hurt an

bitterness is has caused among us.

The Bible speaks out clearly against

being prejudice. God tell us that He

created all people equally, we are all

unique and special creations, formed

by the Lord himself. We are not to

be judgmental, but loving. We are

to be inviting, not suspicious. In Gods

sight we are all the same He looks

on the heart, not the color of

our skin, or whether we are rich

or poor.

Lets take a look at Gods Word to see

What he say's about this and what

He expects from us.

1st Samuel 16:7

But the Lord said to Samuel," Don't

judge by his appearance or height, for

I have rejected him. The Lord doesn't

make decisions the way you do! people

judge by outward appearance, but the

Lord looks at a person's thoughts and

intentions."

Isaiah 53:2

My servant grew up in the Lord's

presence like a tender green shoot,

sprouting from a root in dry and sterile

ground. There was nothing beautiful

or majestic about his appearance,

nothing to attract a man of sorrows,

acquainted with bitterest grief. We

turned our backs on him and looked

the other way when he went by. He

was despised, and we did not care.

Over and over the Lord tells us not to be

Prejudiced. Yet there is even some, who

call themselves Christians who still

have problems, with people

who are fat ,to skinny, or disabled

so they made fun of them. People of

different races are hated because of there

color, be it black, brown ,red, yellow,

or white.

Lord help us, and have mercy on us.

The bible tells us that the real person

is inside, the body is just the holding

place, just temporary, so why are we

we so hung up about the appearance of

a place that the Lord say's is just

temporary Housing. Lord help us, and have

mercy on our souls.

ESTHER 3:5-6

When Haman saw that Mordecai would not

bow down or show him respect, he was filled

with rage. So he decided it was not enough

to lay hands on Mordecai alone. Since he

had learned that Mordecai was a Jew,

he decided to destroy all the Jews thoughout

the entire empire of Xerxes.

Here we see that just because Mordecai

didn't bow down to him, he went into a

rage., he also used it as an excuse to

get rid of a whole race of people, because

of the action of one man. It is the same

today, we form opinions regarding race

Church denomination, local clubs and

in most case it is base on the

actions of one person.

Proverbs 14:20-21

The poor are despised even by their

neighbors, while the rich have many

"friends."

It is sin to despise one's neighbor,

blessed are those who help the poor.

Proverbs 14:31

Those who oppress the poor insult their

maker, but those who help the poor

honor him.

It is a dangerous thing to esteem the

rich over the poor. We see in the above

scriptures that we honor our Lord ,when

we help the poor, but we are in sin ,if we

despise someone according to his financial

status. We have all seen this, I'm sad to say

even In some Churches, they ignore those

quote, unquote" who are not like others,

in wealth, dress or from the right family."

Mark 6:2-3

Where did he get all his wisdom and the

Power to perform such miracles? He's

just the carpenter, the son of Mary.

Can't you just see these elite men of the

town mocking Jesus, because he didn't

fit the mold and occupation you had to

have, and sense he didn't, they put him

down. As we can see, on the whole,

times, haven't changed all that much.

But Praise the Lord for his love

No matter who we are.

John 1:46

"Nazareth !" exclaimed Nathanael. "Can

anything good come from there?" "Just

come and see for yourself, Philip said.

As we see here Jesus was judge as

being less than honorable just because

of were he came from, just as it is in

some places today especially in small

town, you are judge for who your family

is, or what part of town you are from

and in many cases unless you move from

your home town, you will never have a

chance to reach your goals in life.

John 15:19

The world would love you if you belonged

to it, but you don't. I chose you to come

out of the world, and so it hates you.

When a person enjoys sin and wants

to stay in that life style, it is only

natural that they develop a hatred

for anyone or anything that is

Christian. When you are serving the

devil, getting around a follower of Christ

brings conviction from the Holy Spirit

that dwells within them. That is

why in many cases they will lash

out at anything that reminds them

that they are living a sinful life.

This is why the world is prejudice

against Christ's followers.

Luke 10:33

Then a despised Smaritan came along,

and when he saw him, he felt deep pity.

We see in this scripture we are to help

those in need ,no matter what ethnic or

racial differences. We have to remember

in heaven there are no distinctions such

as these, so it is very important that we

look on the heart not the outward

appearances.

ROMANS 14:10

So why do you condemn another Christian?

Why do you look down on another Christian?

Remember each of us will stand personally

Before the judgment seat of God. "For the

Scriptures say, "As surely as I live," says

The Lord, every knee will bow to me

and every tongue will confess allegiance

to God."

We are reminded here, that we have to be

careful not to be prejudice against other

Christians, for whatever reason we think

Have for feeling the way we do. God says

we are to love one another, love is the only

thing that will bind us together in harmony.

As long as we have ask Jesus to come in to

our hearts, forgive us of our sins, we are all

covered with the of blood Jesus, therefore we

are one in the Spirit of God. Color, race

rich or poor, we are all the same in

God's sight.

Father we come to you is the name of our

Lord Jesus Christ. Lord lets us pause right

now and search our hearts, and if we as

His children have even a tiny bit of

prejudice there ,let us ask forgiveness and ask

Him to help us to over come any biases we

may harbor in our hearts that is not pleasing

to Him. Lord let your love reign in us toward

others. Thank you Lord for striving with us

in our daily walk with you. Thank you Lord

that your love knows no bounds. Thank you

Lord that even when we fail to be all

You would have us to be, you never turn

away from us. Lord let this be our goal

toward others.

AMEN & AMEN
