'Abilities'

Have you like many of us admired

those among us that seems to have

an abundance of abilities and talents,

and wonder where you were when God

was handing out these attributes ?

Well my friends take heart because,

we as human beings were made in the

image of God, so therefore deep within

our spirit is a desire and a capability to do

wonderful things. We inherited from

God the desire to accomplish, to be on

top of, and make things happen. Since

these desires come from Him, at the

same time He gave us the means to

carry them out. These "'means'" are

called abilities, or talents. God gave us

these gifts to help us to accomplish

great things for him, and to help us

enjoy life. Ultimately how we use or

misuse these abilities, will be what

determines our quality of life.

Quality of life in God's eyes, is

not as we have been taught all

of our lives, that if we are comfortable

or have accumulated things such as

fame, wealth, houses, land and so on.

God gave them to us to form our

character, joy and lasting satisfaction.

We should make it our goal to first

discover our abilities and talents. Then

it is our duty to then begin to exercise

them, and finally channel them in a

manner that brings glory to God and

his goodness and not glorify the evil of

satan.

E

 Ephesians4:11-12

He is the one who gave these gifts to

church, the apostles, the prophets, the

evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.

Their responsibility is to equip God's

people to do his work and build up the

church, the body of Christ.

We owe every special ability to God, each

and everyone of us , no one was has been

left out by God, and it is God who

then empowers us, to have a more

fulfilling life, to exercise those abilities,

but how we use them, is up to each

person. God gave us a free will, and

therefore the burden rest on us if

we waste what God gave us.

Exodus 4:10-12

But Moses pleaded with the Lord,

' Oh Lord, I'm just not a good speaker.

I never have been, an I'm not now,

even after you have spoken to me,

I'm clumsy with words.' 'Who makes

mouths ? ' the Lord ask him. 'Who

makes people so they can speak or not

speak, hear or not hear, see or not see?

Is it not I, the Lord ? Now go, and

Do as I have told you. I will help you

Speak well, and I will tell you what

to say.

Isn't it Ironic that we go around

quoting scriptures and tell others how

God will not call us to do anything

without giving us the ability, and the

resources to get the job done, but like

Moses in many cases we begin to

give excuses, also like Moses when

we do this and don't allow God's

perfect will for our lives, like Moses

we suffer all kinds of trouble and

heartache, because for some reason

or the other we were not willing to

let God's best for us ,so we settle

for second best. Like Moses we

to find ourselves saying 'God what

have I don't to deserve this. God

must spend a lot of time either

shaking his head or laughing at us.

I don't know about you, but I am

So glad he is so patient with us.

The one thing we must not forget

If God calls us we will give us the

ability in any area we lack.

1stTimothy4:78

Do not waste time arguing over

godless ideas and old wives tales for

spiritual fitness. Physical exercise

has some value, but spiritual exercise

is much more important, for it

promises a reward in both this life

and the next.

Matthew25:21

"'The master was full of praise.'

Well done my good and faithful.

You have been faithful in

handling this small amount so

now I will give you many more

responsibilities. Let's celebrate

together !'

God is telling us that he gives

us spiritual abilities and in order

to grow spiritual, we must properly

exercise those abilities. We are

responsible to use well, the talent

and abilities God has given us.

We as Christians can not use

any reasons or exercises. It

behooves us not to waste our

God given abilities.

Pslam 147:10

The strength of a horse does

not impress him, how puny

in his sight is the strength

of a man.

I think we all know that if we

aren't careful, we can fall into the

devil's trap of being jealous of the

abilities, and in some cases it totally

consumes us to the point we are in

danger of losing our objective, which

is being all we can be in the Lord.

We may want the speed of a horse

but I don't think any of us would

want to be a horse. Like wise it is

with others, we may want there

talents and abilities, but in our

heart of hearts we wouldn't want

to be that person for varies reasons.

God want us to rejoice in our

God given talents, they are gifts

from him and he want us to

maximize what he has given us

and waste our lives wanting what

others have. God promises us

that if we use what we have wisely,

he will give us more. Thank you

Lord for this promise. May we

be faithful to maximize our

abilities and not be guilty of

wasting them, Help us Lord

to be obedient to all you call us too.

Amen and A men.
