Under The Fathers Wings
Unity

When we say the pledge of allegiances ,we come together in
Unity. Whether it is a family, arm forces, football game,
our place of worship, ect. There has to be unity in order
to reach the goal we have set out to do. God says, in to order to
have the a united or the highest form of relationships as
Christians we have to have Unity. Unity does not means we
Have to dress a like, talk a like, thank alike, in order to have
unity . What is does mean, as Christians we come together
as the body of Christ, and put a side our differences, quit majoring
on the minor things of our denominations and major on the
major things, such as the virgin birth, death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ, forgiveness of sin though the Blood of Jesus. This
is what we can unite on. God did not make denominations
man did. Let look at God word for some answers.
Ezekiel 37:22
I will unify them into one nation in the land. One king
will rule them all, no longer will they be divided into
two nations.
Romans 12:5
So it is with Christ's body. We are all parts of his body,
and each of us has a different work to do.
John 10:16
I have other sheep, too, that are not in the sheepfold.
I must bring them also, and they will listen to my
voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd.
Ephesians 4:4-6
We are one body , we have the same Spirit, and
and have all been called to the same glorious future.
There is only one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and
there is only one God and Father, who is over us all
and in us all and living though us all.
The above scriptures tell us, even though there is diversity
in out culture and way of life, God is still the creator
of true unity. The very fact that our churches and sad to
say even Pastor's of different denominations can't even
get together in fellowship ,so how do we expect to have
unity in our churches. We can't unless we allow the
Holy Spirit to bring unity and peace in the body of Christ.
It starts first in our own place of worship, then
reaches out to other churches.
1st Corinthians 12:18-20
But God made our bodies with many parts, and he
has put each part just where he wants it. What a
strange thing a body would be if it had only one part !
Yes there are many parts, but only one body.
Unity dose not mean that we all think a like,
look alike, Dress a like ,worship alike. We are
not clones, God has created us differently, which
means there will be differences of opinion. But
our common goal is the same to serve Jesus.
Romans 15:5-6
May God, who gives this patience and encouragement,
Help you live in complete harmony with each other,
each with the attitude of Christ Jesus toward one
another. Then all of you can join together with one
voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Unity is not just a word we in Christian circles throw
around, because it sounds religious, unity is crucial for the
church it creates a more beautiful worship experience. When
there is division with in our place of worship it hinders the
the move of the Holy Spirit in the service, so therefore we
leave unfulfilled. I am sure many of you have experienced
this, and left feeling empty, and not know what went
wrong. It is up to each and every Christian to
come together in unity in order not to deprive other
and ourselves of a beautiful worship experience.
1st Corinthains 1:10-13
Now, dear brothers and sisters, I appeal to you by
the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ to stop
arguing among yourselves. Let there be real harmony
so there won't be divisions in the church. I plead with
you to be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.
For some members of Chloe's household have told me
about your arguments, dear friends. Some of you
are saying "I am a follower of Paul." Others are
saying "I follow Apollo's," or "I follow Peter,"
or "I follow Christ." Can Christ be divided into
pieces?
We see here that arguing over how we should worship
and who we should follow, is nothing new. Can't you
just see the old devil laughing his head off because
he still causes trouble with God's people, when are we
going to wake up as the body of Christ and kick him
out of our churches, and our lives. It is up to us as
Christians to end the devils reign in our lives .
God doesn't say that diversity is bad ,it can be
positive if we are all striving for a united purpose
in pulling down the denominational walls, so we
can serves and glorify God in unity and one
accord. Brothers and sister when we are fighting
among ourselves we are grieving the Holy Spirit
and that is not a light thing. It is also keeping
people from coming to the Lord, because they see
and hear us tare each other apart. How can they
see Jesus in us, when they know we are suppose
to love one another. I have had them say to me
why does every Church think they are the only
ones that are going to heaven?
Also they say if you can't agree, why should
I bother. I don't know about you but that
Is a hard one, and we are going to be accountable,
and that is a heavy thing.
Father God in closing I pray that this lesson
Will quicken us to know we need to come together in
Unity, and cause us to purpose in our hearts to
do our part and strive to bring unity among the body
of Christ the Lord, you told us that the world would
know us by our love. Lord thank you for your grace.
Help us Lord not to be the cause of someone not
receiving you as there savior. Help us Lord to be
what you called us to be Lord. Forgive us for our
sin of division, you said to ask and we would receive
so Lord I'm asking for all of us as your children
that we truly begin to love one another and be a united
front for the cause of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the
kingdom of God. Praises and glory to your precious name.
Amen & Amen.
