Sharing

When I Was a little girl my

two sisters and I would get

into a tussle over an item or

something, that we all wanted.

I can still hear my parents

telling us we were going to

share. Sharing was the last

thing we wanted to do. Can any

of you relate? Many are still of

the same mind set regarding

sharing. We still find it hard

to share our resources and

ourselves. Why? Because at

the core of our human nature is

the desire to get, not to give.

We are taught that if we don't

"look out for number one, no

one else will", and further more

we have the idea if "I" can

make it on my own without any

help, so can others. Would it

surprise you to know that the

Bible tells us to share many

things, our resources, our faith,

our time, our talents,

even our money.

Sharing is using and enjoying

something we have with other.

We are going to take a look

and see what God has to say

about why it is vital to share.

Matthew 7:12

Do for others what you would

like them to do for you. This

is a summary of all that is

taught in the law and the

prophets.

1st.Corinthians 1:4

I can never stop thinking God

for all the generous gifts he

has given you, now that you

belong to Christ Jesus.

EPHESIANS 4:16

Under his direction, the whole

body is fitted together perfectly.

As each part does its own

special work, it helps the

other parts grow, so that the

whole body is healthy and

growing and full of love.

Why do we share? As Christians,

we share because we have

a God that unselfishly shares

with us. When we share we

are expressing our love to

one another. We also share

because God has given each

of us different gifts, and by

sharing our gifts with others

we experience the full range

of God's blessings.

PROVERBS 22:9

Blessed are those who are

generous, because they feed

the poor.

Acts 4:32

All the believers were of

one heart and mind, and

they felt that what they

owned was not their own,

they shared everything they

had.

Romans 1:11

For I long to visit you so

I can share a spiritual

blessing with you that will

help you grow strong in the

Lord.

Romans 12:15

When others are happy, be

happy with them. If they are

sad, share their sorrow.

Galatians 6:2

Share each other's troubles and

problems, and in this way obey

the law of Christ.

Philippians 1:7

It is right that I should feel as

I do about all of you, for you

have a very special place in

my heart. We have shared

together the blessings of

God, both when I was in

Prison and when I was out,

defending the truth and telling

others the good news.

God ask us to share our

money, our homes, our

resources, our love, our

Faith, our sympathy, our

joys and sorrows. God

tells us that when we share

we connect with others in

relationships, and we also

demonstrate our Christian

love. I am sure we all as

Christians have a desire to

be obedient and pleasing

to God, yet I would be remiss

if I did not honestly say

when we read the bible

we can see that we like

the world delegated more

and more of our obligations

to the government, when its

comes to our pocketbooks.

Even our churches for the

most part won't help out there

own members in times of

financial needs, and that my

brothers and sisters, that is not what

the word of God teaches. The

word tells us to share all (not

just some) we have with one

another. Let us thank of this the

next time someone comes to

us with a need. Let us remember

God desires that we don't try

to figure out how much we have to

share, that is the wrong attitude.

when we give from our hearts, the

amount doesn't matter.

Psalm 25:14

Friendship with the Lord is

reserved for those who fear

him.

Romans 8:17

And since we are his children

we will share his treasures,

for everything God gives to his

Son, Christ ,is ours, too. But

If we are to share his glory,

we must also share his

suffering.

Colossians 3:4

And when Christ, who is

your real life, is revealed

to the whole world, you will

share in all his glory.

We know by reading the word that

God held nothing back from us,

not even His beloved Son. He shares

his love, peace, and comfort with

us. He shares forgiveness of sins

and salvation with us, and one

day he will share heaven,

his eternal home, with those

who believe in him.

John 6:9

"There's a young boy here with

Five barley loaves and two fish.

But what good is that with this

Huge crowd?"

If we, like the boy who shared

his lunch with Jesus, so thousands

were able to stay longer to hear

Jesus' message. Because of sharing

many probably went home as

believer's because they got to spent

extra time with Jesus. Isn't it the same

with us, when we reach out to those

in need, whether Christian or

Non-Christian, we are giving them

a glimpses of Jesus and his love

for them. Jesus is the light and we

are called by God to be the light-

house.

1stSamuel 30:24

Do you think anyone will listen

to you when you talk like this?

1st.Timothy 6:18

Tell them to use there money to

do good. They should be rich

in good works and should give

generously to those in need, always

being ready to share with others

whatever God has given.

When we read God's word

we can have no doubt that human

nature never changes. EVEN in the

bible day's ,you heard people

make the same statement then

as now, such as " Why should I

share with someone who didn't

work as hard as I have to earn

what I have." God say's our role

as his children is to share what we

have with loving hearts and leave

justice up to God. Sometime we

assume a person doesn't deserve

something when in fact, they have.

Only God is to be the judge, not us.

More important, we must remember

that God shares his generous gifts

with us even though we don't

deserve it. Where would we be

if God treated us like in many

cases, we treat others?

Lord forgive us for our selfishness

and conditions we place on

those that are in need.

Yes Lord we know in our heart

that we are willing to pray for

them, but when it comes to our

money, and our Goods we are not

Willing. Lord in your word

( Luke 3:11 ) It tell us that if a

man has two coats give one

to the poor. If you have food

share with those who are hungry.

Help us to realize Lord, that we

are going to have to stand before

you and make an account to you

for our lack of love ,caring, and

sharing with those in need. Lord

let us truly be your lighthouse

to those around us. Fill our hearts

with your overflowing love. We'll

give you all the praise and glory.

Amen & Amen.
