Praises To God

The word of God tells us that satan has
taken the things of God and perverted
them and no where is it more apparent
than in Praising God. We can scream,
hoot and holler, till we are have no voice
at sports games, we can applauded people
with power and fame, bow and scrape to
them, we can cheer, dance and praise a
worldly singing groups or bands, God
forgive us! But when we enter the our
churches, we find it hard to even show
our joy by singing and praising the
Lord, much less clap shout, or even
dance before the Lord, as David
did,, and the Bible tell us that he was
a man after God own heart. It seems
to me, what was good for David, should be
good enough for us, he was not ashamed
of showing his love and joy for the Lord.
Let us take a look at the Bible and see
what God says about praising Him.

psalm 149:1-9
Sing to the Lord a new song. Sing
His praises in the assembly of the
faithful. O Israel, rejoice in your
maker. O people of Jerusalem, exalt
in your King. Praise his name in
dancing, accompanied by tambourine
and harp. For the Lord delights in
his people, he crowns the humble
with salvation. Let the faithful
rejoice in this honor. Let them sing
for joy as they lie on their beds.
Let the praises of God be in their
mouths, and a sharp sword in
their hands. To execute vengeance
on the nations and punishment on
the people, to bind their kings with
shackles and their leaders with iron
chains, to execute the judgment written
against them. This is the glory of his
faithful ones. Praise the Lord!

AMOS 5:21-24
I hate all your show and pretense,
your hypocrisy of your religious
festivals and solemn assemblies.
I will not accept your burnt
offerings and grain offerings. I
won't even notice all your choice
peace offering. Away with your
hymns of praise! They are only
noise to my ears. I will not
listen to your music, no matter
how lovely it is. Instead, I want
to see a mighty flood of justice,
a river of righteous living that
will never run dry.

We see above just a few scriptures,
that deal with how God expects us
to praise to Him. We are the people
of God and He exhorts us to praise
Him with singing, music, and great
joy. We are offering our offering
of sacrifice of praise when we tell
others of Christ, and for us to love Him
with all our hearts, it is good news
to know that just by telling others
about Jesus we are praising him.
We have to be very careful to be
sincere in our praise and not to be
hypocritical. When we sing and give
praises to God it must be from the
heart not just word coming from
our lips. God is so good to us, He
said if we lack anything just ask,
and we would receive, so if you
find it hard to express praises to
Him just open your mouth and he
will fill it, praise God! Because He
gives us the desire of our hearts.

Psalm 103:1-11
Praise the Lord, I tell myself; with
my whole heart, I praise his holy
name. Praise the Lord, I tell
myself, and never forget the good
things he does for me.
He forgives all my sins and
heals all my diseases. He ransoms
me from death and surrounds me
with love and tender mercies. He
fills my life with good things. My
youth is renewed like the eagle's!
The Lord gives righteousness and
justice to all who are treated
Unfairly. He revealed his
character to Moses and his deeds
to the people of Israel. The Lord is
merciful and gracious; he is slow
to get angry and full of unfailing
love. He will not constantly accuse
us, nor remain angry forever. He
has not punished us for our sins
nor does he deal with us as we
deserve. For his unfailing love
toward those who fear him is as
great as the height of the heavens
above the earth.

Luke 19:38-40
"Bless the King who comes in the
name of the Lord!
Peace in heaven
and glory in highest heaven!"
But some of the Pharisees among
the crowd said, "Teacher, rebuke
your followers for saying things
like that!" He replied, "If they kept
quiet, the stones along the road
would burst into cheers!"

There are many reasons why we
are to praise God, but the main
reason is because he provided His
Son Jesus for our salvation, if
that was all he ever did, or has
ever done that would be enough.
We give God praises because he
forgives us, heals us, and fills us
with his ever lasting love. We
praise him for his eternal and
unchanging qualities. The bible tells
us if we don't praise Jesus as
our Lord and King, the rocks and
stones along side the road will
cry out in cheers . Do we want
a rock or stone to do what we are
supposed to do? Not me! We have
to remember that Jesus came from
the tribe of Judah, that was the
praising tribe, they were the ones
that went out in front in times
of battle, singing praises unto God.
We defeat satan our enemy and
the enemy of God with our praises.
Being a praiser is not just when we
come together in fellowship,
it is away of life. Again I would like to
say that the word tells us to praise.
He does not say praise only if we
want to, but he tells us over and
over to praise Him. Being a praiser
to some does not come easy. Being a
praiser doesn't happen just when we go
to church. This statement
can not be said to many times, so I
beseech those who do not praise to
purpose in your hearts to become a
praiser to the King of Kings, Jesus
Christ our Lord.
