Under The Fathers Wings

We don't talk much about blessing others anymore

but it was a vital part of life in the Bible times.

Blessings are not only to give but to receive.

When most of us giving blessing is the easy part

The hard part is to receive. Our pride gets in the

Way. To bless someone means many things.

It means to praise them, to pray for them and

To commit them to God care. It also means to

dedicate and challenge them to live forever

committed to God. It is a challenge to keep

hold of spirtual things. When we give someone

our blessing we are asking for abundance and

prosperity for another. In the old days it was

an officially passing on the family inheritance

to the oldest son. It was a wish that them to

have a rich and abundance life, was not

always in a material sense. God was

recognized as the ultimate source of the

blessing, and the person blessed would

walkwith the Lord and receive benefits.

The blessings were not just tangible gifts.

joy, peace children home, reputation, health

work, food ,and ect. Blessing went much

deeper than that, it was to bring a have a

special relationship with God, one that

We never know how God is going to bless us,

All we can we sure of that he does and he will

Bless us every day of our lives in ways that

We can't even count. It may be a spoken word

of encouragement of ahugs and I love you, or

opening your mail and money falls out to pay

a bill or buy food . But the main thing is

that no matter how you are blessed it is all

coming from the one who loves us more

there anyone our Father God.

Some times we can have preconceived ideas

On how God is going to bless us and God

forgive us we, sometimes try to tell God how

we think he should bless and other. As we

in some cases that some of the most hurtful

things such as friends shunning us, sickness

and ect. Turns out to be a blessing instead

the curse that is it seem to be to us when

we are going through it. When we come out

on the other side we have grown in the

lord and proven ourselves faithful to God.

When it come to the blessing that come

to us from God , they are so many we

can't begin to count them. The word tells

us we are to proclaim his unfailing love

and thank him for his faithfulness

every day, because if we don't we get

busy and forget and then we are in

danger of becoming ungrateful for the

blessings we receive every day from Him.

God says we are to be a blessing to others.

He didn't say to bless other when we want

to or feel like. He tells us that if the Holy Spirit

abides in us the fruits of the will and does

flow through us. I want to say here we have

chose to be a blessing to other, but if we aren't

we lose out on God's blessing. We don't have

wonder how to bless other all we have to do

is read the word of God to find the answer.

But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron,

"Because you did not trust me enough

me enough to demonstrate my holiness

to the people of Israel, you will not

lead them into the land I am giving

them !"

 We see here that the word tells us that there

is thing that we can do that causes God

blessings to be limited. We limit God from

blessing us when we sin willfully sin against

him and therefore we hinder our relationship

with Him , we limit Him when we give in

to temptation, we limit Him when we

don't trust Him in to bring us through a trial .

I don't know about you my sister or brother

but I need all of the blessings from God He

has for me, so I want to be very careful to

not willfully sin against Him.

Have you ever said or heard someone say

"look at all I've done for them and they

haven't even thanked me for it?" Well how

do you think God feel when become so

comfortable in what we receive from God

that we forget who gave us all we have.

We have to be very careful not to take our

blessing for granite.

As we see here there are conditions for

Receiving blessings from God. I'm not

saying that God won't bless us if we don't

meet the conditions , because Gods grace

is unexplainable, that's the reason we

call it grace, but the word tell us to receive

God unending blessings, comes to those who

trust and obey God. God's blessings are not

merely words spoken by a father, but a

special relationship offered by God.

In order for us to continue to be blessed we,

must be open handed. I mean by that as

God prospers us we are to share our prosperity

with our giving. Receiving and giving goes

hand in hand. I would like to say here that

just as important to giving, is to be able to

receive what is given to you graciously

and not refuse what is offered, because

you are not only losing out on a blessing

but if refuse to acept you doing the giver

out of his or her blessing.

will bless them.

When we look at this scripture and other like

It, we in the natural say no way they persecute

Me or moke me I'll make them sorry, but

this is why this is unique to being a Christian.

We are to follow the ways of Jesus and he tells

us to forgive our enemies and bless them.

we are to pray for them, this is a severe test to

our devotion to Christ. We who have walked

with the Lord for any length of time know this

does not easy or over night. It is a day to day

commitments to being pleasing to God.

Unless we become sold out to the

Christian way of life ,we can never fully walk

in the blessed way of life that God has for us.

Father God I come before you now filled

With your love and blessings. Lord I thank

you that you promised us that if we would

obey you , do what is right before God and

man, if we would help those less fortunate ,

and don't give up in your faith and you

we would reap great blessing. Lord right

now I ask you to help each and everyone

of us to be what you would have us to be,

not to be blessed but to be a blessing .

I ask this in the name of Jesus.
