Our Values / Our wake up Call

Jesus tells us that our actions give away

our value system. What we do, more than

what we say, shows what we really believe.

Do our actions clearly show we are living

by the values taught in the Bible? Not only

as a people, but as a nation. Our values,

have to be not in ourselves, our money

our jobs, our churches, our families, our

armies, or our government, but in God,

and God alone. WE all as a people, have to

turn our hearts, and mines wholly to God

and repent. Yes, God loves us, and because

of His love for us, He has sent us a wake

up call, just as He did when Israel strayed.

I urge us to heed the call and humble our-

selves, and seek His face to heal us, and

our lands of wickedness. Let us look

into the "Word of God" to see what

Scripture has to say on our value system.

1st.Samuel 12:4

"No," they replied "you have never cheated or

oppressed us in any way ,and you have never

taken a single bribe."

2nd.Kings 12:15

No accounting  was required from construction

supervisors , because they were honest and

faithful workers.

AS we see here in the above scriptures that

the benefits of living by the values that

God has set for us, is a good reputation and

knowing that you can be trusted in all

situations. Just think how wonderful it

would be, to know that our values are

so steeped in the word of God that

everyone trusted us on our word and

hand shake, no need for contracts or time

card , "Just our word."

Genesis 39:8-9

But Joseph refused. "Look," he told her, "My

master trusts me with everything in his entire

household. No one here has more authority

than I do! He has held back nothing from me

except you, because you are his wife. How

could I ever do such a wicked thing? It would

be a great sin against God."

We as the redeemed children of God like

Joseph, have to dig our feet in, and refuse

to do what the Bible tells us is wrong, the

time has come that we have to "Stop" going,

the way that the unredeemed goes. I am

sure God's heart is breaking when He looks down

on His Children and sees, that in some cases

He can't tell us from satin's children, How "Sad."

Matthew 7:12

Do for others what you would like them

to do for you. This is a summary of all

that is taught in the law and the prophets.

Galatians 5:22-23

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he

will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy,

peace, patients, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no

conflict with the law.

Psalm 15:1-5

Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord? Who

may enter your presence on your holy hill? Those

who lead blameless lives and do what is right,

speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those

who refuse to slander others. or harm their

neighbors or speak evil of their friends. Those

who despise persistent sinners, and honor the

faithful followers of the Lord and keep their

promises even when it hurts. Those who do not

charge interest on the money they lend, and

who refuse to accept bribes to testify against

innocent . Such people will stand firm forever.

Micah 6:8

No, O people, the Lord has already told you what

is good, and this is what he requires: to do what

is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with

your God.

The above scriptures give us a clear answer on

how, we are to cultivate these values, I submit

to you, that we don't have any excuses on why,

we don't have our value system lined up with

the word of God. But I have good news, as long

as we seek God, and confess our faults, and ask

him to give us whatever we need, to be

pleasing to Him, he will forgive us, and pick us

up, and give us the tools we need to reach our

goal. Praise God!!

Romans 1:29

Their lives became full of ever kind of wickedness,

sin, greed, hate envy, murder, fighting, deception

malicious behavior, and gossip.

Ephesians 5:4-6

Obscene stories, foolish talk, and course jokes

these are not for you. Instead, let there be

thankfulness to God. You can be sure that no

immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit

the kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy

person is really an idolater who worship the things

of this world. Don't be fooled by those who try

to excuse these sins, for the terrible of anger

God comes upon all those who disobey him.

Proverbs 30:8

First, help me never to tell a lie. Second, give me

Neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough

to satisfy my needs.

Matthew 15:19-20

For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder,

adultery, all other sexual immorality, theft, lying,

and slander. These are what defiles you. Eating with

unwashed hands could never defile you and make

you unacceptable to God!

We see here, that it is very important that we

take inventory of our own values. Our values,

are not to be what we think, or what the world

say's, It rest solely on what the Bible, which is the

Word of God say's. God doesn't change His mind

with the wind, or what is the thinking of the day.

The question, we have to ask ourselves is our

heart grieved when we sin? Our hearts the

Bible tells us is the wells spring of moral or

immoral, behavior. Our conduct is the fruit of

character, and character is the fruits of belief.

Psalm 24:3-4

Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may

may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands

and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and

and never tell lies.

Proverbs 28:2

When there is moral rot within a nation ,its

government topples easily, But with wise

and knowledgeable leaders, there is stability.

Exodus 23:24

Do nor worship the gods of these other nations

or serve them in any way, and never follow

their evil example. Instead you must utterly

conquer them and break down their shameful

idols.

The Bible is consistent in telling us, that we

have to live moral lives.

We can't sit on the fence,

and think we are safe, we can't, give room

to false religions, and say everyone has a right

to there beliefs. If we are in a furnace, we will

catch fire. God warned the Israelites about the

idol worship of their neighbors because it

could turn them away from Him. If we aren't

faithfully and consistently practicing the values

of our faith, it become very easy to begin take

on the values of those living around us. We

are faced with them every day. When the social

pressures got so powerful, for God's people,

God commanded the total destruction of

other gods, were ever the people made their

residents. As we look around us today we can

see that have allowed this to happen in our

lives, neighborhoods, our government,

even in some of our churches.

God, forgive us!

2nd.Kings 17:12-15

Yes, they worshipped idols, despised the Lord's

Specific and repeated warnings. Again and again

the Lord had sent his prophets and seers to warn

Israel and Judah: "Turn from all your evil ways.

Obey my commands and laws, which are

contained in the whole law that I commanded

your ancestors and which I gave you through

my servants the prophets." But the Israelites

would not listen. They were as stubborn as

their ancestors and refused to believe in the

Lord their God. They rejected his laws and the

covenant he had made with their ancestors,

and they despised all his warnings. They

worshipped worthless idols and became worthless

themselves. They followed the example of

the nations around them, disobeying the Lord's

command not to imitate them.

It saddens my heart to say I can see us, God people,

who have been redeemed, through accepting

Jesus Christ as our savior. Our nation that

Was founded by Godly men, whose motto is

"In God We Trust" has become a joke, we have

taken God out of every public forum, If His name

is used on our air waves it is to mock and curse

Him. We have excepted ungodly lifestyles.

Am I saying that God has brought destruction

to our shores to punish our turning away from

Him. "No, but I am saying I believe that because

He loves us so much, like Israel He has sent a wake

up call. You may ask "Why" well why not, How

many times, have we preached, or heard a

message warning us to repent and turn from

our wicked ways. What did we do, we either tuned

it out, said God loved us to much to bring any harm

to us, or worst yet said it wasn't from God. I submit

to you if God who loved the Israelites would

send a warning, why would He not do the same

to us? We can't forget were our power and might

comes from and once again, not put out trust in man,

and the might of our armies ,government and ect.

I truly believe God has sent us a wake up call,

Are we as Christians going to heed the call

It has always been the righteous people of

God that when called on Him,

He spared, and healed their land .

2nd.Chronicles 7:14

Then if my people, who are called by my name,

will humble themselves and pray and seek my

face and turn from their wicked ways, I will

heal their land.

Dear Lord Jesus, you are so good to us , you

never lease us without hope, you have promised

to heal our land if we will seek you with a humble

heart. Lord, let us not forget that you chastise

those you love. Lord, let us line our values up

to what your Word says. Give us a heart Lord,

that hunger's after you. Lord, give us a desire to

pray, and intercede for those you have put in

power over us. Lord, give them a heart that seeks

your wisdom to govern this great land. Help us

Lord, to realize that we are at the cross roads.

Lord let our nation repent, but more than that

Lord turn our hearts to you as never before.

Let us choose this day whom we will serve.

Lord let us not tremble as the disasters that

have come our way, but cause us to turn to you,

and you alone. Oh Lord, have mercy on us.

Amen & Amen.
