Life and Fairness

Fairness, how many time have we heard ,are
even made the statement life just isn't
fair! why would "God "allow that to happen?
Well I hate to break it to you but fairness
is not the same as equality. God doesn't give
us all the same circumstance, the same job,
the same kind of family, the same environment
in which we live. Since we are different and unique
individuals, God treats us each in a different way
in order to bring us to Him. But He loves all
of us the same and His desire for us all to
receive the same salvation. Fairness is how
we treat others, then it involves weighing the
circumstances and doing what is best for others.
We may not be able to treat others equally,
even our children, but we do need to be equal
in the way we love and value those involved.
There is a saying that what goes around comes
Around. Many of us have found that to
be true in our own life. Let us not forget
that God's love for us never stops, and lets
face it no one ever said that life is fair, least
of all God, so it is unfair to blame Him
when life seems to be out of balance or bad thing
happen to us or our loved one. It is not so
much what happens to us in life, it is more
what we think happens to us and how we
let it affect us.
Matthew 7:12
Do for others what you would like them to
do for you. This is a summary of all that
is taught in the law and the prophets.

Isaiah 33 :15-16
The ones who can live here are those who
are honest and fair, who reject making a
profit by fraud, who stay far away from
bribes, who refuse to listen to those who
plot murder, who shut their eyes to all
enticement do wrong. These are the ones
who will dwell on high. The rocks of the
mountains will be their fortress of safety.
Food will be supplied to them, and they
will have water in abundance.

Psalm 103:6
The Lord gives righteousness and justice
To all who are treated unfairly.

In order to be treated fair, we have to
make sure we treat other in the same
way we want them to treat us. Being fair
is making sure that right prevails, that
people aren't unjustly treated. If we
put others first it shows that we care more
for others than for ourselves, that we are
sensitive to their needs. It demonstrates
a sense of justice that doesn't want to
see evil or sin win. It is an inner desire
for integrity and an Outward desire to
build up the self-worth of others. We see
here in the above scriptures that our goal
of fairness is to be like Christ Jesus.

Proverbs 24:28-29
Do not testify spitefully against innocent
neighbors ,don't lie about them. And
don't 'say "Now I can pay them back
for all their meanness to me! I'll get even!"

This scripture tells us what we already know,
but we tend to forget in the heat of the
moment, that fairness is not getting even.
We learn here that seeking justice against evil
Is fair and right, and getting even is revenge.

Isaiah 10:1
Destruction is certain for the unjust judges,
for those who issue unfair laws.

Romans 2:5-6
But no you won't listen. So you are
storing up terrible punishment for your-
self because of your stubbornness in
refusing to turn from your sins. For
there is going to come a day of judgment
when God, the just judge of all the world.
Will judge all people according to what
they have done.

As we see hear there is a difference
between fairness and justice. Fairness
Is playing by the rules, justice is holding
other people accountable for the wrong they
have done.

Psalm 7:11
God is a judge who is perfectly fair He
is angry with the wicked every day.

When our circumstances are not to our
Liking ,or not what we think they should
be ,we have a habit of blaming God or
believing that He favors one person over
another. But as we see here if God
gave us what we all deserved, none of us
would make it to heaven, for the Bible
say's that all people have sinned against
God, God is not only fair by offering us
another way to heaven, He is merciful
by giving it to us free. All we have to do is
accept the other way, and that is though His
son Jesus Christ.

Ecclesiastes 9:11
I have observed something else in this
world of ours. The fastest runner doesn't
always win the race, and the strongest
warrior doesn't always win the battle.
The wise are often poor, and the skillful
are not necessarily wealthy. And those
who are educated don't always lead
successful lives. It is all decided by
chance, by being at the right place at
the right time.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world loved the
world that he gave his only Son, so
that everyone who believes in him will
not perish but have eternal life.

We must realize that God does not
promise us fairness ,nor does he promise
us equality of thing here on earth, but he
does promise that all have an equal chance
of eternal life in heaven, where there will be
no more adverse circumstances. WE have
to remember that just because we are good
or Christians, that does not keep us from
unfair and tragic thing happening to
us here on earth. I wish I could tell
you that were so, but alas I can't.

Father, I come to you at this moment
To thank you for you Son Jesus,
thank you Father that even thought
thing may not seem fair, that bad thing
happen to us, and our loved ones, help
us to not forget that you didn't promise
us a rose garden, but you did promise us
eternal life , and that you would always
be with us, just a whisper away. help
us to treat others as we want to be
treated. Help us Father to be just and
fair to our fellow man to not live by
and eye for an eye. In Jesus name
Amen & Amen.
