My Soul Doth Long for Thee

divider bar

Oh, my God, how my soul doth longest, ever for Thee…
Thou art my comfort in grief and strife… you see.
Take me under Thy wing, and keep me hidden from fault and shame,
That I would never, at any time belittle Thy Holy name.

Take mine own heart, unto thy keeping, my God above…
Keep my mind in keeping, with Thine own sweet love.
Oh! How my soul longest, for Thy wings about me…
How my heart longs for the Heavens, Thou made to see.

When Thou cometh for me, my heart, and soul will rejoice…
I’ll rejoice at the wondrous, sound of Thy Mighty voice.
A Mighty voice coming to me, with the softest love
That ever was befitted, for only my God there above.

My soul longest for Thee, my Master, mine own Savior…
Whom, my soul shall ever, in earth, and heaven be an adorer.
Thy Love covers my sin; I sin and Thou forgive again…
Please take my praises, and hold them close in Thy hand.

Thou bringeth my soul, to the highest mountaintop, above,
Out of the deepness, of the valley, due to Thine own sweet love.
Oh, How shall I tell Thee, of my longing, my souls love!
Power to Thee O, God, who is wondrous, and blest above.

When Thou cometh, I could scarce believe, I’d receive a crown
Only for Thy mercies, and Thy love to me all around.
I Praise Thy name; I praise Thy Greatness to my soul
Now and through eternity, Lord, Thou art my desire and my goal.
